I have created two journals especially for solo women travelers who may be hitting the road for the first time.
When I first went away in the Van, I was so paralysed with grief that I had no idea what might go wrong. The grief shielded me, in a way, from thinking about what life on the road might actually mean. I had my eyes on one thing only; running away.
But from Facebook groups I've been part of, I've seen that many women feel naturally quite worried about taking a long road trip alone. Safety issues, concerns about loneliness or boredom, how to plan where to go and what to do, fears of what other people might think of their decision to head off, worries about being too old, too unfit, too...(add your own word here).
All of these concerns are valid and worth thinking about. At the end of the day, will you go or won't you?
Perhaps your thinking of a longer trip around your state or maybe the whole country. It's been a dream for years and you've finally got hold of a car-and-tent, or a campervan, a caravan or motorhome. The time has come to make that dream come true!
Keeping a journal is a great way not only to record all those wonderful experiences you'll have on the road, but also to work out on paper any worries or concerns you might have. On the other hand, perhaps you prefer to express yourself visually, through sketching.
Writing or sketching, I have created two beautiful journals just for you, brave and joyful solo woman road tripper, you!
